Outstanding in the Field!

I am soooooo excited for my event pairing up with the Amazing Julie Johnson winemaker/owner of Tres Sabores Winery (www.tressabores.com) tomorrow in Napa.  For those of you that don’t know about OSITF, it all started with Founder Jim Denevan, a chef and landscape artist, launched the series in 1999 when he was a chef in Santa Cruz. His accolades have ranged from Alice Waters attending as a guest in 2003, to press such as a New York Times article in 2005 and a Frommer’s recommendation in 2008. As stated on Outstanding’s web site, “Denevan started in 1999 and in the years since, dinners have taken place across the country with chefs, farmers and guests gathering at outdoor tables in farms, ranches, orchards, and vineyards. Outstanding in the Field guests receive a guided tour of the “host farm,” (or ranch or vineyard) . Then guests arrive at a long table for a meal created by the guest chef “ME”,  in a “nomadic al fresco kitchen.” Meals are typically from three to four hours. Dinner is served family style with wine pairings for each course.

For our menu there will be HUGE spread—- short rib, shrimp, “just picked” arugula, beets, sorrel, fennel, halibut, zucchini, eggplant, onions, escarole, farro, guniea hen & a 4th of  july surprise dessert!

This holiday weekend —DON’T COOK; MAKE RESERVATIONS!
